Hormat kami,
Ali Pandir

The future of GM Indonesia : Statement by Mr.Ali Pandir, General Manager
Dear friends,
Over the past few days there have been rumors that GM is
planning to pull out of Indonesian market and that we will be replaced by a
new ATPM.
We understand that these rumors are causing concern and we want to reassure
you that these rumors are untrue.
GM has no plans to pull out from Indonesia, where we intend to continue
building the Chevrolet name into a respected automotive brand in the long
term. That is why we recently introduced new models like the Chevrolet
Estate.
As part of this process, we are working to strengthen our dealership for
sales and customer service. We are also making other efforts to strengthen
the Chevrolet name into a respected and trusted brand.
We appreciate your patience and hopefully, we will soon be in a position to
tell you about what we are doing to create a stronger and better dealership
network and how we will establish stronger Chevrolet brand in Indonesia.
Regards,
Ali Pandir

Chevrolet Captiva 2007 - Bakal masuk Indo?
With the all-new Captiva, its first diesel powered compact SUV, Chevrolet takes its European product offensive to a new level. Tailored to European roads and customer requirements, the vehicle will be available with a modern two-litre 150hp common-rail direct-injection diesel. Like the two available gasoline versions (2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.2-liter V6), the turbodiesel offers dynamic driving performance. The Captiva will also be the first model in Chevrolet’s European range available with an electronic stability program (ESP). It debuts at the Geneva motor show (March 2 - 12, 2006) and will be available in showrooms across Europe starting in June.

Chevrolet Chevrolet Captiva
“Chevrolet continues to grow at a remarkable pace in Europe”, said Wayne Brannon, new Executive Director, Chevrolet Europe. “Selling just over 240,000 cars in Europe in 2005, 26 percent more than in 2004, we closed last year with another sales record. With the Captiva giving us access to an additional and growing vehicle segment, and more new products coming to the market this year, and especially our new state-of-the-art diesel engines, we have the potential to continue our growth in a similar way.”
The Captiva offers expressive design and a spacious, convenient interior featuring high quality fabrics and materials. The new compact SUV measures 4,639/1,849/1,726 mm (length/width/height) and with a wheelbase of 2,707 mm. It will be available with seven or five seats respectively.
Customers will also have the choice between front-wheel and four-wheel-drive variants. The latter variant features an-active-on demand, four-wheel-drive-system. As driving conditions demand, the rear axle is instantly employed via an electronically controlled electro-magnetic coupling to give maximum traction. The system also seamlessly interacts with the ESP and ABS systems, enhancing driver control of the vehicle and safety margins. The ESP itself has additional functions like HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), HDC (Hill Descent Control) and ARP (Active-Rollover Protection).
Initially, three transversally mounted engines will be available for the Captiva. They include the brand new, state-of-the-art common rail diesel engine jointly developed by GM Daewoo Auto&Technology Company, GM Powertrain and VM Motori. In its first application, the 16 valve unit offers 150 hp at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 310 Nm at 2000 rpm.. In the ECE mix, fuel consumption is 7.61 L per 100 km. It is the first application of a family of diesel powertrains that will become available in other Chevrolet products in Europe, beginning in 2006.
The base engine is a 2.4 litre in-line DOHC four cylinder, delivering 142 hp at 5,200 rpm and a torque maximum of 220 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The Captiva 2.4 average fuel consumption is 9.9 L per 100 km. The top-of-the line 3.2 litre V6 engine produces 225 hp at 6,000 rpm, maximum torque is 302 Nm at 3500 rpm.
Suspension layout consists of a McPherson strut configuration in front and an independent four link design in the rear. Ventilated disc brakes are standard on all four wheels. Four cylinder versions come standard with 215/70 R 16 tyres on 6.5J x 16 inch wheels, while the V6 rolls on 235/60 R 17 tyres on 7.0J x 17 inch wheels.
Chevrolet is the leading global brand of General Motors with over 4 million vehicles sold in over 120 countries. Chevrolet has been the market leader in Latin America for five consecutive years and in North America, Chevrolet became the number one selling brand in 2005 - for the first time since 1986 with a total of 2.67 million vehicles sold.

Chevrolet introduces T2x Concept to Europe
|
GM released a bunch of new shots of its T2X concept truck to the European media today, giving them a look at the sporty two-door SUV unveiled at the Seoul motor show earlier this year. It’s a variant of the Daewoo-built S3X prototype, which we know in the states through such Theta-architecture vehicles like the Chevrolet Equinox and (soon to be) next-gen Saturn VUE. No word on whether Europeans will be getting a production vehicle similar to this, but with Chevrolet’s often stated plan to expand on the Continent, we wouldn’t be a bit surprised.

Chevrolet Epica 2007
The new Chevrolet Epica is the company’s first mid-size model to be launched in Europe with two refined, transversally mounted in-line six cylinder engines. It will celebrate its world premiere at the Geneva motor show (March 2-12, 2006) and will be launched on the European market from June 2006. Epica will offer a comprehensive range of comfort and safety equipment as standard and exceptional value for money.
|
Dimensionally (length/width/height: 4,805/1,810/1,450 mm), this front-wheel drive mid-size saloon has grown significantly compared to its predecessor, the Evanda. It has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The most striking design features of the four-door Epica are its rising, wedge-shaped side contours with a character line that runs on the upper half of the door, the grab-type door handles, the chrome grille with a substantial cross strut carrying the bold Chevrolet bow-tie emblem, large wrap-around headlamps and equally striking rear lamps. Standard safety features of the new Epica are ABS, driver and passenger airbags, and side and head airbags.
Buyers will initially have a choice of two engine types: Extremely smooth straight-six gasoline units with a capacity of either 2.0 or 2.5 litres (142 and 155 hp) will be available at launch with a version of Chevrolet’s all-new family of common rail turbo diesel engines coming later. The six cylinder gasoline engine is probably the shortest six cylinder available in the world. This enables the whole power unit to be neatly packaged in a lightweight transverse configuration. Both engine types are available with a five-speed manual or a sophisticated new five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.

Holden Captiva
GM Holden Press Release
Holden CaptivaHolden's new sports utility vehicle will be called Captiva and powered by an advanced new 3.2-litre Global V6 all-alloy engine made in Port Melbourne.
Holden recently released the name and first images of the new production car to coincide with Captiva's global debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Denny Mooney, today said Captiva would be available with five or seven seats, electronic stability program (ESP) and an active all-wheel-drive system.
Mr Mooney said Captiva would be in Holden showrooms in the second half of 2006. The start of sales date, model line-up and further technical specifications will be released closer to launch.
"Captiva is a striking design with flexible seating and extremely competitive equipment levels," Mr Mooney said.
"The production car remains very close to the S3X concept which has impressed motorshow crowds in Australia in the past few months.
"The extensive Australian input in Captiva covers the outside, inside and underneath to ensure it looks, feels and drives as a Holden should. This vehicle has been a missing link in our product line-up and we believe there is strong appetite for its arrival.
"Captiva is Holden's strongest move yet into the sports utility vehicle market and it will represent great value and high specification."
Holden Captiva will measure 4.635m long, 1.850m wide and 1.720m high, offering spacious seating for five or a third row to fit seven people. High quality materials will provide an impressive fit and finish to complement its sophisticated and bold exterior design.
Captiva has a strong Australian influence, with former GM Holden-based designers Mike Simcoe and Max Wolff involved in the car's design team. GM Holden engineers extensively tested Captiva around Australia and at GM Holden's Lang Lang Proving Ground, ensuring top class ride and handling for local conditions.
Captiva's active all-wheel-drive system instantly employs the rear axle, as driving conditions dictate, via an electronically controlled electro-magnetic coupling to provide maximum traction. This system also works seamlessly with ESP and ABS, enhancing driver control.

GM-Daewoo Rolls Out the Seven-Seat Winstorm in South Korea
SEOUL, South Korea — GM-Daewoo, which is known as Chevrolet in Europe, has rolled out the Winstorm, a badge-engineered version of the new Captiva SUV that was launched at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month.
Underlining the importance of the first Daewoo SUV developed under General Motors' guidance, GM CEO Rick Wagoner joined GM-Daewoo President and CEO Nick Reilly for a ceremony marking the occasion.
The new Winstorm was developed in two-and-a-half years and will be sold worldwide, spawning Daewoo, Chevrolet, Opel, Vauxhall and Saturn-badged variants. All models will be manufactured in Korea, so the company is now rehiring workers laid off by the bankrupt Daewoo company years ago and will run all plants in two shifts to meet expected demand.
The seven-seat Winstorm differs little from the Captiva, although the front treatment is more coherent. It will come equipped with a 2.0-liter common-rail direct-injection diesel engine.
What this means to you: General Motors hopes the Winstorm will add some sunshine to its worldwide sales forecast.
